The French Post Office is issuing - as part of the first day of issue of a stamp with a motif by the famous French painter and friend of Bowien, André Bauchant (1873-1958) - a stamped cover with a reproduction of a graphite drawing from the hand of Erwin Bowien from 1939, depicting Andre Bauchant during his 1939 trip to Holland (catalogue raisonné Bowien N° 2070).

 

Bowien reported on this meeting in his autobiography.
